Actress Moon Geun Young has opened up about her recent recovery from an unusual illness.

On October 21, Moon Geun Young shared a message on Instagram addressed to her fans. Known for her notable roles, the actress had been stepping away from the spotlight due to her battle with acute compartment syndrome, a serious condition caused by increased pressure in muscle compartments that can impede blood flow and damage tissues, muscles, and nerves, potentially leading to permanent damage or even amputation if not treated in time. She underwent four surgeries in 2017 to treat the condition.

Moon Geun Young wrote, "I really wanted to say this... 😭 More people than I could have imagined have been concerned about my health. I am so grateful to you. So, I have a request for reporters!!!!! I am fully recovered and I want you to report that I am in very, very good health. 🙏🏻 Although I have gained a little weight... 🤣 I am currently on a diet and watching my weight loss videos every day. 💪🏻 Now, instead of worrying about my health, I hope you will cheer me on in my diet success! 🥰"

In other news, Moon Geun Young will star in the upcoming Netflix series ' Hellbound 2 ', which is set to premiere on October 25.
